Car insurance comparison specialists from Quotezone.co.uk share their insights into the current insurance market based on the UK average from June to September 2024. 

The index compiles data from each quarter, and the report displays a steady decrease over the past few months across most ages and regions. 

Car insurance costs have fallen across the country over the last few months, with motorists paying an average of £776.02 in September versus £790.37 in June.

This decrease, however slight, will be a welcome relief for motorists across the country.

Young drivers in London are facing the steepest insurance costs, with premiums as high as £3618.17 in September.

Young drivers often pay more for their premiums as they have less road experience. But, the newest data shows a steady decrease in costs for those aged 17-24. The average insurance for these motorists during January to April was £3,009, but dropped to £2,344 for June to September.
