Hyundai Motor America recently donated to The Narrow Door, a nonprofit organization that provides free public assistance in hunger relief, homelessness, clothing, and hygiene within the Coachella Valley.

This donation is part of Hyundai‘s corporate social responsibility initiative, Hyundai Hope, which aims to support communities by addressing health, safety, and food insecurity. A ceremonial check was presented to The Narrow Door in Palm Springs, California.

“Hyundai Hope’s mission is to improve the well-being of society, which starts with necessities like food and shelter,” said Brandon Ramirez, director of corporate social responsibility at Hyundai Motor North America. “We are proud to support The Narrow Door and applaud them for their effort to identify and address key critical issues for communities to thrive.”

Since 2009, The Narrow Door has been serving the Coachella Valley by offering essential services to the community. Its key programs include food distribution, homelessness prevention and relief, and seasonal events that allow for creating connections and establishing community relationships.

Its ReFuel Truck is the Coachella Valley and Riverside County’s first and only licensed catering truck specifically equipped for homeless outreach.

Most recently, The Narrow Door has dedicated resources to provide food and supplies to individuals and families affected by the recent wildfires in Southern California.

“I believe when you shake the hand of somebody in need, you will never forget their face,” said David Ramirez, CEO of The Narrow Door. “The Narrow Door offers a chance to do just that and a connection to helpful resources and a supportive community.”
